Students discuss the possible scientific insight gained through dissection, ranging from anatomy and physiology to curing illness & preventing disease to understanding the health of ecosystems as a whole.
Squid Biology & Dissection
In small groups, students perform a guided dissection of a squid, stopping between each step to dive deeper into the anatomy and physiology of various physical characteristics, both internal and external, and the purpose of these traits. Characteristics examined include the beak, gills, mantle, syphon and ink sac!
