Health & Safety
Student safety is our top priority. Our front gate access is controlled by office approval to enter. All employees are thoroughly background-checked to the same standard as a school employee.
Our wellness center is a warm and friendly infirmary that is staffed from 7:00am – 7:00pm by licensed nurses, while we have medical staff on-site 24 hours a day. In the case of an emergency during the times when the nurse is not on site, EMS will be utilized. Learn more about everything we do to keep your kids safe while they are entrusted to our care.

Wellness Center
Our wellness center is a warm and friendly infirmary staffed from 7:00am – 10:00am by licensed nurses. There are comfortable beds and couches for kids who may not be feeling their best. We carry a full supply of basic over-the-counter medications (cough medicine, Pepto Bismol, cough drops) and healthcare products like sunscreen and lip balm – all free for any kids who need them, with nurse and parent approval. Our nurses are always on site to care for your child’s daily health needs and deal with emergencies. They administer all medication and store it safely in the wellness center.
Emergency Care
While we do everything in our power to ensure our campers are as safe as they can possibly be, we are fully prepared in the unlikely event of an emergency.
Diabetes, Allergies and Other Health Concerns
Our on-site wellness center provides temperature-controlled storage for needed medicines and supervises dosage. Please let us know about any medications or medical devices your child needs. Children who need to carry their devices with them need to register with the nurse on arrival.
There is a nurse on the premises from 7:00am – 10:00pm, every day that students are on site. In an emergency when the hours where the nurse is not on the premises, the hospital is just seven miles away. Local emergency ambulance and fire services have a four minute response time. Although we do not permit campers to carry mobile phones, our staff is connected by radios or wi-fi throughout the property and can contact the “outside world” when necessary.
We permit children a great deal of independence and freedom to make good decisions about their health. We back it up with careful supervision and assistance. The chef, nurses, counselors and staff provide information and gentle guidance.
For those children with severe allergies, our housekeeping staff is allergy-aware and cleans cabin bathrooms daily. They wipe down light switches, tabletops and other commonly touched areas at least once a day. Food is not permitted inside cabins, so if they see it, it is promptly removed. Housekeeping follows up daily cleaning with a deep cleaning between each group.
