ELO-P-funded outdoor education on 274 acres of San Bernardino National Forest. Weekends, intersession, PD Days and break weeks, supporting all four developmental domains.
Your ELO-P dollars pay for qualifying non-school-day programming - and everything the day requires. Pali Institute runs weekend and intersession sessions that support all four ELO-P developmental domains in a single multi-day experience. Here is what a program includes.

Yes. Programs run during fall, winter, and spring break weeks and on weekends, which is exactly the intersession window ELO-P intersession solutions are meant to cover. Interested in summer intersession dates instead? Explore our Summer Camp ELO-P programs.
The 2026/2027 school year currently has limited weekend and intersession dates available. We are also accepting reservations for the 2027/2028 school year for early planning.

Pali instructors provide primary 24/7 supervision and instruction, including overnight cabin supervision. Schools only need to send two or more support staff for continuity.
Pali confirms student rosters prior to check-in and verifies each student upon arrival. Final cabin and activity group assignments are distributed once attendance is verified on-site.

Pali is an approved vendor for several of Southern California's largest school districts. Our team is fully prepared to submit required vendor applications, Certificates of Insurance (COIs), and W-9s immediately upon request.
Yes. Since 1990, Pali has partnered with districts across Southern California to deliver accredited, high-quality outdoor education. We maintain superior risk management, safety standards, and full compliance for ELO-P field trips and intersession programs.

Each multi-day program covers all four domains in one trip. Academic: hands-on inquiry and problem-solving in an outdoor setting. Social: living in cabin groups, working through team challenges, and building friendships across classrooms and school sites. Emotional: students try new things away from home, like the climbing tower, high ropes, and zipline, which builds resilience, confidence, and self-regulation. Physical: more than nine hours a day of active, outdoor programming, including hiking, archery, climbing, and games.
No. ELO-P programs are meant to complement the school day, not repeat it. Our weekend and intersession programs center on leadership, team building, social-emotional growth, and outdoor adventure. Science modules are available if your program wants an academic enrichment piece, but they are optional.
Yes. Programs are customizable. Tell us which domains or outcomes your plan prioritizes, such as SEL, physical activity, or school connectedness, and we will build the class mix around them.
Small activity groups and cabin groups led by trained instructors. Challenge activities that end with a group debrief so students can reflect on what they learned about themselves and each other. Dedicated leadership classes that focus on communication, cooperation, and trust.
A Pali program directly supports standards such as Safe and Supportive Environment, Active and Engaged Learning, and Skill Building.
A full program day runs from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, well past the nine-hour minimum. Your district decides how to count arrival and departure days. We provide detailed itineraries and attendance documentation to support your records.
Yes! We have many districts who organize multi school site trips. We just ask that you help us organize cabin and activity groups with student attendance confirmed ahead of the trip.
