Our Impact
Pali Institute was created in 2003 and has since been visited by tens of thousands of students. Each student that attends Pali Institute leaves with an increased understanding of relevant science concepts, an increased awareness of personal growth, and an increased awareness of group dynamics.
To further verify and investigate our positive impact on the world, and to further protect the long-term success of our mission, Pali Institute is committed to being a certified Benefit Corporation, joining a global community of over 2,700 businesses, including Patagonia and Ben and Jerry’s. Benefit Corps are certified by the independent and non-profit B Lab, and are upheld to rigorous environmental and social standards. Benefit Corps break the mold of traditional business by practicing the triple bottom line – Profit, People, and Planet. Pali Institute is proud to be a Certified Benefit Corporation with the B Lab.
Mission
At Pali Institute our mission is to introduce experiential education to young people by providing progressive learning experiences that extend far beyond classroom walls. Students will experience the thrill of seeing, touching, and learning about the environment and our impact on the world. At Pali Institute, we bring textbooks to life!
Program Goal
Each student that attends Pali Institute should leave with an increased understanding of our human impact and respect for themselves, each other, and the environment.
Students may spend thousands of hours in a traditional classroom environment. It is more important than ever that students are able to experience the things that they are learning about in textbooks. We strive to have 90% of our activities be hands on. The majority take place outside in all types of weather and can be catered to fit any group dynamic. Our unique environment allows us to facilitate a student’s discovery of many ecosystems and provide opportunities that can not be replicated in the conventional classroom.
